Title : Evaluation of pathogenesis of concurrent SIV and PCV 2 infection in CD /

چکیده
The objective of this project were to investigate the pathogenesis of an H1N1 (not pandemic H1N1) swine influenza infection in pigs subclinically infected with porcine circovirus type 2b (PCV2b). Forty caesarean-derived, colostrumdeprived (CD/CD) pigs were randomly assigned to four groups, 10 pigs per group. Group 1 pigs served as shaminoculated controls, Group 2 pigs were inoculated with SIV, Group 3 pigs were inoculated with PCV2b and SIV, and Group 4 pigs were inoculated with PCV2b. Pigs were inoculated intranasally with PCV2b at 4 weeks of age (study day 0) and SIV pigs were inoculated intra-tracheally at 6.5 weeks of age (study day 17). Dual-infected pigs had increased (p < 0.05) clinical respiratory scores (dyspnea and cough), shed increased amount of SIV in nasal secretions (p < 0.05), and had a prolonged period of SIV shedding when compared to SIV-only inoculated pigs. Macroscopic and microscopic lung and lymph node lesions were not significantly different between the dual-infected group and the SIV group. Group mean

Activation of the immune system is the pivotal event in the production of wasting disease in pigs infected with porcine circovirus-2 (PCV-2).
Porcine circovirus (PCV)-2, a newly described single-stranded circular DNA virus pathogen of swine is the cause of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS). In gnotobiotic piglets, PCV-2 infection alone produces asymptomatic infection without evidence of overt PMWS. Gnotobiotic piglets infected with PCV-2 were injected with keyhole limpet hemocyanin in incomplete Freund's adjuvant (KLH...

BACKGROUND Non-human primates infected with simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) represent a robust model to evaluate pre-clinical efficacy of HIV-1 preventive strategies and to determine the size of reservoir. METHODS We developed a real-time qPCR assay to specifically quantify episomal 2-LTR circular DNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and brain tissues from SIV-infected macaques. RE...
متن کاملEvaluation of CXCL10 and CXCL11 Genes in Patients with Celiac Disease by Specific Primer Paris
Background: Celiac Disease (CD) is a T cell-mediated disorder. Recent studies suggest the role of chemokines CXCL10 and CXCL11 to promote the arrival of cells into inflamed tissues and in lymphocytic recruitment in active CD. The aim of this study was to investigate the new specific primer pairs for analysis of human CXCL10 and CXCL11 genes in blood samples of CD patients by Polymerase Chain Re...

Immunosuppression is known to be associated with increased rate of malignancies and widespread dermatophytosis in the patients with sezary syndrome and this may account for the occurrence of Kaposi’s sarcoma and generalized dermatophytosis in patients in this report. Herein, we report a 58-year-old farmer man, who admitted with two months history of severely pruritic skin lesions, which p...
